Persimmon

The tree Diospyros kaki is the most widely cultivated species of persimmon. Typically the tree reaches 4.5 to 18 metres (15 to 59 ft) in height and is round-topped. The fruit, 5–8 cm (2–3 inches) or more in diameter, yellow to red in colour, somewhat resembles a tomato in appearance and contains vitamin A, with lesser amounts of vitamin C.
